The Big Idea Toolkit includes 7 components to enable you to capture ideas, build them up with meaning, and then systematically break them into the requirements necessary to make them live in the real world and make their impact felt by your intended audience.

Below is a Summary of each component in the toolkit.  Each component is also available to purchase separately.

the PlayGround from the Big Idea Toolkit - Delightability, LLC.the PlayGround

The PlayGround is where ideas live. You get ideas, some are good, some are bad. The PlayGround doesn’t judge. It merely captures your ideas, no matter the source or inspiration. Ideas can be BIG or small; they may stand alone or they may be connected to other ideas. The PlayGround is about possibilities, free of constraints and obstacles. Think of it as your “What If” space.  Learn More

the Situation from the Big Idea Toolkit - Delightability, LLC.the Situation

The Situation captures what surrounds your idea. What are current or past related activities and what’s already working? It helps you to make the current state visible but also what the future looks like when you make your idea a reality. What are you trying to accomplish and what is needed to get there?  Learn More

the Audience from the Big Idea Toolkit - Delightability, LLC.the Audience

But what matters to the Audience? How will your reach them? Who influences them and what exactly do you want them to think, feel, and do? Remember, its an irrational world so understand what makes your audience tick. Learn More

the Big Picture from the Big Idea Toolkit - Delightability, LLC.the Big Picture

the Game Plan from the Big Idea Toolkit - Delightability, LLC. the Game Plan

the PlayBook wall saver edition from the Big Idea Toolkit - Delightability LLCthe PlayBook

The PlayBook is all about execution and turning “to-do” into “to-dones.”   The PlayBook gives you a sight-line to upcoming events and milestones, a calendar by week number, and also gives you a weekly view where you can list major tasks or deliverables due. Claim or assign a task or deliverable by writing it on a standard 3 x 3 inch sticky note and affixing it to the PlayBook in the week number that it is DUE. Now you can take your step by step requirements from the Big Picture and calendarize them for execution.

The PlayBook can be used by an individual or by a team. Some groups add color to indicate team member.  You can also use individual rows for a team member.  Another useful way to organize your execution is to show your backlog on one row and what you have in process in another row.  Making work visible this way is key to staying motivated.  You can use the PlayBook for Kanban or Scrum and keep your whiteboards clear and ready for use.  The wall saver edition of  The PlayBook fits in a standard hall space or even a “dreaded” cubicle; it is 20 inches wide by 30 inches tall. Learn More

4-Square Personal Action Plan from the Big Idea Toolkit - Delightability, LLC. the 4-Square Personal Action Plan

You can’t do it all. Our ambitions will always exceed our ability to execute, given the available level of resources. Smart creative people simply think of stuff faster than they can execute on.  Ideas are for the PlayGround but when you want to advance an idea your 4-Square Personal Action Plan is where you hold yourself and others to be more accountable. Each week you’ve got a short list (ok – maybe a medium list) of things you need to get accomplished. Plan them, share them, and get them off of your “to do” list and on to your “to DONE” list.  A useful operating mechanism that highly innovative teams have in place is to do a 4-Square compare.  This is like a standup meeting used in Scrum circles.  The 4-Square is also a free download to help you stay balanced and organized.  Learn More.
